I started the year newly engaged, in a new semester in school and found my myself planning a wedding 2,000 miles away. With a busy first part of the year there was so much planning to do. The approach to our wedding was slow and then all at once the BIG day was here. 6 months after proposing we were married in the brand new Ft. Laudable temple, in Florida, which was such a blessing, Chase and I were the first couple to sign up for a sealing for the temple which is pretty neat. Our reception was at a country club in Miami, it was perhaps the longest day of my life and I never wanted it to end.. until that day, besides the night chase proposed to me I don't think I had ever been happier, perhaps I had been happy but nothing compared to the bliss of eternity with chase.
Six months later.. and we flew down to Florida of course for Christmas, both our families live in south Florida about thirty minutes away from each other so it makes it sweet and easy not to choose which family to visit for holidays. We had the best trip!! Both our families were all there for the holidays when chases little sister who just finished her mission for the LDS church. In the words of my three year old niece it was the "best Christmas ever!" We spent Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas with the browns. Chase and I also had the opportunity to go up to Orlando to visit Universal studios and Islands of adventure. Chase and I geeked out for the Harry Potter parts of both parks. I think one of the best parts of the trip was being about to go to the Ft. Lauderdale temple, it was a beautiful experience to share with some of our family. To say I didn't want to come back to Utah is an understatement, last week we were on a beach now chase is brushing snow off the cars haha everything is covered in snow.
This year has been the most memorable. Its been full of blessing and so much love. So much good has happened to me especially in the last six months and although I know that every year won't be as impactful and in the years to come we might face some struggles it will be full of blessings and love and that's what will make every year better than the next, just knowing that you're growing with your greatest friend. For the last night of 2014 we're just going to spend it at home with each other and I couldn't ask for anything better.

| DRESS: C/O SOEL BOUTIQUE BAG: CULT GAIA How hot is it where you live? It is close to unbearable in Florida. I haven't been in Florida for an entire Summer in years and I think I forgot that you can't really do many activities because of the heat. The weather is definitely a factor in my mood and what I wear as I'm sure it is for many people. I find that when its boiling hot outside it is so difficult to still be modest and covered up in an everyday basis. And frankly, I don't feel like being cute and getting dressed up because I don't want to be a sweaty mess. I found this dress on Soel's online shop and thought it would be perfect to wear during summer. I love that it doesn't cling to my body and because it is a wrap dress you can make it as tight or loose as you desire. I like wrapping it tight on my waist because it suits my body shape the best. I have to say, I wore it this weekend while exploring West Palm Beach with family. We walked around in the middle of the day, ate outside and although I was hot from the heat, the dress was so light and airy. I didn't get sweat marks and felt so comfortable in it all day. I'm so happy I have it in my closet and since I live in Florida it stays warm all year long. I get to wear this dress over and over again. It would be great for church or casual events. The dress also comes in yellow and black, and has pockets, which is just a major plus for me. Do you also consider what the weather is going to be like and the activity for the day? Or do you just wear whatever you feel like styling? |
